It was December 2020, and like the rest of the world, after 9 months of weathering a pandemic, I was exhausted. At the start of the spring lockdown, nearly all of my design firm’s projects had been cancelled, and I had done everything in my power to keep my company, Styleberry Creative Interiors, afloat.
After many months and — I’m so grateful — a business that survived, I chose to step away from work for a couple of weeks.
I was laying low at home by the fire, black coffee flowing strong during this cold Holiday break. It was the first time I could think clearly in months. I had the time and mental space to reflect upon the year. What had worked. What didn’t. What we do next. I looked for patterns and thought deeply about what I loved doing most.

During the pandemic, and for the first time in company history, I hopped on Zoom and offered a service we called Design Strategy Sessions. We’d done these in person here in San Antonio for years, but we started booking them with clients across the country. From Boston to Chicago to Orange County, we were able to offer expertise that helped homeowners get unstuck. And I noticed something…
We kept consulting on bathrooms. Over & over. Little ones. Bigger ones. Many of them had a similar footprint. We offered advice on many bathrooms in person too. & often, our clients, even the ones investing in luxury design and project management, didn’t want to invest heavily in full-service design for a secondary bathroom.
& that got me thinking…
What if… we could create beautifully designed bathrooms using readily available materials?
What if… we could offer clear plans that offer a fail-safe way to install the exact materials we specified?
What if… we could help homeowners begin a productive relationship with a General Contractor?
What if… we could help you list-making, action-taking gals have the confidence you need to renovate on your own?
Could we create something new to the market? Could this solve the problem we were seeing happen so often in our client’s lives?
Could this be how I finally combine my love of design with my strong belief in female empowerment?
Well. You obviously see where this story goes. 🙂
I often get my big ideas in my dreams, and this was no exception. I woke up in a bit of a manic state—which is the best possible place for my brain to create in a new and exciting way. I grabbed my notebook on that chilly December day, and started writing.
Who was this service for? What could it do? How would we deliver it? & what would we call it?
Sourced by Styleberry was born.

The next nine months were spent nurturing this new business baby. We’d call her a “Design Kit” and she would offer a fail-safe way to renovate with style & ease.
We’re starting with kits to renovate Bathrooms, but we have big plans. In the thoughtful, detailed Styleberry way, we created these plans to leave no detail untended.
& we’re getting back on Zoom with you. I want to see your face. I want to hear your challenges. Thus, each Design Kit comes with a live group Q&A, held the week after each seasonal collection retires.
Without a plan (Pinterest doesn’t count!), details are overwhelming, big decisions are risky & there are so many places to get stuck. This is where our Design Kits come in.
I can’t wait for you to see indecision become confidence, confidence turn into action, and action result in a home you love.
Are you ready to renovate? Let’s get started!
